THE DELEGATION OF THE FRENCH MINISTRY FOR EUROPE AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND OF THE GENERAL CONSULATE OF FRANCE IN HO CHI MINH CITY MADE A VISIT TO THE HOLY SEE OF CAODAISM IN TAY NINH

This morning July 7th 2023, at 10:00am, a delegation from the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh City has paid an official visit to the Tay Ninh Cao Dai Holy See.
The Delegates are as follows:
1. Ambassador Jean-Christophe Peaucelle - Advisor on Religious Affairs, Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
2. Madam Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser, Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City
3. Ms Candce Ragot - Employee at the Embassy of France in Viet Nam
4. Ms Minh Tâm - Interpreter at the Consulate General of France in HCM City.
His Eminence Cardinal Thuong Tam Thanh, Chairman of the Cao Dai Sacerdotal Council -Tay Ninh Holy See, welcomed the delegation in his office.
Ambassador Jean Christophe Peaucelle said that it was an honor and privilege to visit the Tay Ninh Cao Dai Holy See, and especially to have an exchange with His Eminence Cardinal about the religious institutions within the complex of the Tay Ninh Cao Dai Holy See, about Victor Hugo (one of the saints in Cao Dai religion), the number of Cao Dai followers, the funeral ceremonies and brief doctrine of Cao Dai.
Ambassador Jean Christophe Peaucelle showed his interest in the Paris-based Cao Dai Congregation, and expressed his wish to visit this place when he returns to France.
Then, His Eminence Cardinal presented a small gift (plaque having an image of the Tay Ninh Cao Dai Holy See) to the guests.
Next, the French delegation went on for a tour of the Great Temple of the Tay Ninh Cao Dai Holy See. Archbishop Ngoc Hong Thanh, Head of the Cao Dai Ministry of Personnel, explained some architectural features, the construction process of the Great Temple, and the meaning of worshipping the Divine Eye in Cao Dai Religion.
Ambassador Jean Christophe Peaucelle and Consul General Madam Emmanuelle Pavilion-Grosser left a few words in the Souvenir Book of the Tay Ninh Cao Dai Great Temple as follows : “We are very honored to visit this high place of spirituality, cradle and Holy See of Caodaism, religion of human fraternity. We express France's esteem for the faithful and dignitaries of the Cao Dai Church.”
The delegation left at 11:50 in the same morning.
