GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE CAO DAI SACERDOTAL COUNCIL IN 2017

Pursuant to the Sacerdotal Council’s Decree for 5-year Plan of Religious Activities (From Year of the Dragon 2012 to Year of the Rooster 2017), The 2017 General Assembly of the Sacerdotal Council was held on 07 December 2017 (lunar month 20^th October).

The General Assembly of the Sacerdotal Council was aimed at:

1. Approving the Sacerdotal Council’s report on religious activities of the past 5 years

2. Agreeing on the next 5-year Plan of Religious Activities from 2017 to 2022

3. Considering the petitions handed over by the General Assembly of the Popular Council.

4. Approving the List of dignitaries, sub-dignitaries and followers applying for religious rank promotion in accordance with the Religious Constitution of Caodaism.

The 2017 General Assembly of the Sacerdotal Council was divided into two sessions:

+ The preparatory session was held on 7 December 2017 at the Auditorium in the Cao Dai Tay Ninh Holy See Complex.

+ The official session was held inside the Cao Dai Great Temple of the Holy See on 9 December 2017

Then, on Saturday evening of Dec 9, 2017, the Cao Dai Sacerdotal Council held a ritual ceremony requesting the Divine Pope Li Tai Pei to assign religious branch family (Confucianism, Taoism or Buddhism) to newly approved 682 male dignitaries. (Note :Total approved: 1558 dignitaries, of which 682 Male and 876 Female. Female does not have branch family)
