H.E CARDINAL THUONG TAM THANH ATTENDED THE 244th ANNIVERSARY OF THE US INDEPENDENCE DAY IN HCM CITY

At the invitation of Ms. Marie C. D’Amour, Consul General of the United States of America in Ho Chi Minh City, at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020, His Eminence Cardinal Thuong Tam Thanh, Chairman of the Cao Dai Sacerdotal Council Tay Ninh Holy See, together with Deacon Thuong Van Thanh, Deputy Head of Cao Dai Overseas Missionary, came to the residence of the US Consul General on Nguyen Du Street, HCMC, to attend the reception in honor of the 244th Anniversary of the American Independence Day.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the celebration of the Independence Day of the United States, instead of being held on July 4, 2020, had to be moved to today, and the guests were also limited (about 100 people).
Attending the reception, representing the Vietnamese government, was the special attendance of former President of Viet Nam Truong Tan Sang
Consul General Marie C. Damour stated that this year is the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Vietnam, talking about outstanding achievements in economic, educational, cultural, social, tourism and industry fields between the two countries.
HE Cardinal Thuong Tam Thanh has invited Consul General Damour to visit the Cao Dai Tay Ninh Holy See in 2021 after the Covid-19 pandemic has been exterminated worldwide.
